Calibration data solution now offered as software-as-a-service

Vector's calibration data solution vCDM 21.1 is now available as software-as-a-service at the push of a button. Collaboration within teams is easier, and investment costs are lowered.

The Vector Calibration Data Management System vCDM assists teams in successful collaboration on ECU calibration development projects. The vCDM server makes the data available centrally to every project member. Data changes by multiple users are merged with no conflict and are consistently traceable over all versions.

Calibration teams often face internal, organisational challenges throughout implementation. Setup and operation of the vCDM server and the necessary database must be coordinated with their IT department, and budgets must be planned for the long term. Often, the internal costs exceed the license fees incurred.

This software-as-a-Service addresses these challenges: The Vector Team Services collaboration platform provides the solution. Vector Team Services is based on Microsoft Azure. Azure is GDPR-compliant and certified after the new international standard ISO/IEC 27701 (PIMS), whose demands are significantly more concrete and detailed than those of the GDPR.

In the self-service portal of the platform, users register independently and manage their user data. Subsequently, it can define which employee has which authorisations in vCDM. The subscription includes all costs for hardware, software, and operation of the vCDM server, including the necessary database. vCDM for Vector Team Services makes it feasible to cover long-term investment costs from project budgets and to support collaboration immediately.
