Cost-effective airflow monitors offer visual and audio fault alarms

05-01-2015 | Mouser Electronics | Design & Manufacture

Ideal for applications such as servers, telecoms, power supplies, signage and medical equipment, Orion Fans' cost-effective AFM Series airflow monitors are now available from Mouser stock. The AFM fan, and filter fan airflow monitors provide a simple alternative for indicating airflow in AC or DC fan / blower applications. The module operates an LED or audible alarm when airflow falls below 8.2ft/s due to fan filter clogs or interference with the fan blade. Field retrofittable, the AFM airflow sensor installs perpendicular to the front or intake side of the fan and mounts via clip or clamp to any grill. With a long operating life of more than 100,000 cycles, the AFM module is IP20-rated and NEMA 1 certified. The AFM sensor measures only 34mm x 17.5mm x 7.5mm and has an operating temperature range of -20C to 50C.
