Tiny 32-bit MCUs provide a full DSP instruction set and includes a hardware FPU

Silicon Labs CSP Package EFM32 Wonder Gecko 32-bit MCUs are now available from Mouser. The devices are based on the ARM Cortex-M4 core, which provides a full DSP instruction set and includes a hardware floating point unit (FPU) for faster computation performance. Wonder Gecko MCUs feature up to 256kB of flash memory, 32kB of RAM and CPU speeds up to 48MHz. The CSP packages offer the world's most energy friendly MCU in 60% smaller packaging that enables a breakthrough in industrial design for small portable devices. Within portable devices, the electronics and battery often dictates the physical size of the industrial design, and these new products help with both aspects, says the company. Applications include gas / energy / smart metering, alarm and security systems, health and fitness, industrial and home automation systems.
