PWM fans control speed with a low power loss in the switching device

10-03-2015 | Mouser Electronics | Subs & Systems

Now available from Mouser, Delta Electronics' pulse width modulation (PWM) fans regulate the voltage signal between fully on and fully off, controlling the speed of a fan with a very low power loss in the switching device. When a switch is off, there is practically no current, and when it is on, there is almost no voltage drop across the switch. As a result, power loss is close to zero. A wide range of options includes power ratings from 1.68W to over 100W, noise ratings from 25dBA to 80dBA and fan speeds from 3200rpm to over 16,000rpm.
