Aimed at applications such as automatic light and LCD backlight control, Panasonic's versatile PNJ4K01F ambient light sensor is now stocked by Mouser. The device features a built-in photodiode and current amplifier circuit. It allows for automatic control of display luminosity relative to ambient brightness. With a spectral response similar to that of the human eye, it's possible to design brightness control schemes that are tuned for optimal human sensitivity. This, along with a small package size and low power consumption, makes the PNJ4K01F ideal for applications in mobile electronics, says the company.
