Diode protects high-speed data lines and antennas against transient voltage signals

Digi-Key now stocks the Vishay VBUS05B1-SD0 ESD protection diode. The device offers ultra-low capacitance down to 0.29pF typical and leakage current of < 0.1µA for the protection of high-speed data lines and antennas against transient voltage signals. The VBUS05B1-SD0's chip-level package in the 0603 case size is one of the smallest in the industry, requiring three times less board space than packages in the 1006 case size. Due to its short leads and small package size, the diode's line inductance is very low, allowing fast transients such as an ESD strike to be clamped with minimal over or undershoots, says the company.
