Laser-welded light-touch switches help prevent actuator peel-off

Now stocked by Digi-Key, Panasonic's EVP-BB series light touch switch is one of the smallest in the world with a compact size of just 2.6mm x 1.6mm x 0.53mm. The EVP-BB series features a laser-welded design that helps to prevent actuator peel-off in the case of side-load or impact. Also available, the EVP-AK series measures just 3.8mm x 2.05mm x 1.9mm making this side-operation switch ideal for use in portable electronic equipment as an operation switch, also featuring a laser-welded design. Finally, the EVP-AY series features a compact size of just 3.4mm x 2.9mm x 0.7mm and offers high environmental resistance. Panasonic has been able to provide a high-level of ingress protection while maintaining the sharp tactile feel necessary for enhanced user experience for all light-touch switches, as well as an IP67 rating, says the company.
