Digital plug-and-play infrared thermometer in a TO-39 can

20-11-2015 | Mouser Electronics | Test & Measurement

Designed for diverse non-contact temperature measurement applications, the Melexis MLX90614 digital plug-and-play infrared thermometer in a TO-can is now available from Mouser stock. The device integrates both the IR sensitive thermopile detector chip and the signal conditioning ASIC into the same TO-39 can. Inside the MLX90614 is a low noise amplifier, 17-bit ADC, and a DSP unit. This produces high accuracy and resolution. The thermometer features a factory calibrated digital SMBus output that gives full access to the measured temperature in the complete temperature range(s) with a resolution of 0.02C. Users can configure the digital output to be PWM. The factory setting for 10-bit PWM is to continuously transmit the measured temperature in range of -20C to 120C, with an output resolution of 0.14C.
