RS Components has announced availability of two new solid-state relay (SSR) series from Kudom. The competitively-priced SSRs offer built-in touch-proof protection and high-quality performance to meet the demands of industrial OEMs, as well as builders of panels, machines and heating-control systems.
The KSI(068) and KSQF series panel-mount SSRs are ideal for use in a range of applications such as resistive heating, catering equipment, temperature control of liquids, motor control, lighting control, electric vehicles, mobility scooters and DC-DC switching.
Driving demand in the relay market is the ability to switch higher loads than electromechanical relays. They also offer the additional benefits of silent and faster switching, as there are no moving parts, and they are able to switch a greater total number of operations.
The dimensional and electrical characteristics of the product match the requirements of the industry-standard ‘hockey puck’ SSR design for panel / surface-mount styles, but incorporate the added safety offered by the built-in touch-proof covers, which are normally sold as accessories but now come as standard. Featuring an aesthetically pleasing design, incorporating the instantly recognisable blue Kudom brand colour, all SSRs from Kudom also come with a built-in LED indicator that enables users to see when the relay is energised.
The KSI(068) series of single-phase AC-output SSRs can be used for resistive, inductive and capacitive loads and has an IP20 touch-safe cover. The relay provides Triac or SCR output for heavy industrial loads and provides internal RC/MOV and TVS protection. The KSQF series of three-phase AC-output SSRs provides an SCR output, an internal MOV/RC protection circuit, and is RoHS compliant, says the company.
