Designed to meet the growing demand for precise, stable, and reliable resistors that can operate in harsh environments, VPG has introduced a new series of ultra high-precision Z1 Foil Technology wraparound surface-mount chip resistors designed for high-temperature applications to +225C. Featuring gold-plated terminals for design flexibility, FRSG Series devices offer low TCR of ±2.5 ppm/°C maximum from -55C to +200C, +25C ref.; tight tolerances to ±0.01%; and load-life stability to ±0.1% after 2,000 hours of working power at 200C.
Jacky Acoca, director of sales and marketing, VFR, VPG, said: "Built on Z1 Foil Technology, FRSG Series devices are able to extend the advanced performance features of Bulk Metal resistors - including tight tolerances and excellent load-life stability - to high-temperature environments, without sacrificing their low TCR. "In addition, the devices' gold-plated terminals support a wide range of mounting methods used throughout the industry, providing designers with the flexibility to meet the needs of their specific applications."
Optimized for down-hole drilling, oil and gas exploration, and avionics, military, and space (AMS) applications, the resistors released today offer a resistance range from 10ohm to 125kohm, with any conceivable ohmic value within this range - to six digits available with no additional cost or lead time effect. Available in six case sizes from 0603 to 2512, the devices provide working power to 750mW at +70C and 300mW at +200C.
The resistors feature a rise time of 1 ns with effectively no ringing, a thermal stabilization time of <1s (within 10ppm of steady state value), current noise of =0.010µVrms/V of applied voltage (<-40dB), and a voltage coefficient of <0.1 ppm/V. Offering the utmost in ESD immunity, the RoHS-compliant devices withstand electrostatic discharges of at least 25kV for increased reliability and offer a non-inductive (<0.08µH), non-capacitive design, says the company.
