Four-channel ambient light sensor offers red, green, blue and IR matrix

12-02-2016 | Mouser Electronics | Test & Measurement

Mouser now stocks the Avago Technologies APDS-9250 Digital RGB IR and Ambient Light Sensor which uses four channels of red, green, blue and IR (RGB+IR) in a specially designed matrix arrangement. The device's construction allows for an optimal angular response and accurate RGB spectral response with high lux accuracy over various light sources. The APDS-9250 supports the I2C interface and has a programmable interrupt controller that frees up microcontroller resources. Applications include OLED display control, RGB LED backlight control, ambient light colour and temperature sensing.
