Step-down converter for high-efficiency and noise-critical applications

03-02-2016 | Mouser Electronics | Power

Optimized for high-efficiency and noise-critical applications, the Texas Instruments TPS62097 2A synchronous step-down converter is now available from Mouser stock. The devices focus on high efficiency conversion over a wide output current range and are particularly suitable for applications such as industrial, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Point-of-Load (POL) regulators and solid-state drives (SSDs). At medium to heavy loads, the converter operates in PWM mode and automatically enters Power Save Mode operation at light load. The switching frequency is selectable in the range of 1.5MHz to 2.5MHz by an external resistor. For low-noise operation with a fixed switching frequency, iDCS-Control can be operated in forced PWM mode. The device integrates short-circuit protection, power good and thermal shutdown features.
