Incorporating PIC architecture, Microchip's PIC16F range of microcontrollers
is now available from RS Components in a variety of pin and package options.
PIC16F1885x/1887xx microcontrollers are based on Microchip's Enhanced
Mid-Range core and are the first to include multiple new Low-Power features.
IDLE and DOZE modes have been added along with Peripheral Module Disable,
this allows peripherals to be removed from the power rail and clock tree for
zero power leakage.
Additionally the devices are Microchip's first PIC MCUs to incorporate an
analogue-to-digital converter with computation (ADC2). Functions like
accumulation, averaging and low-pass filter calculations are completed in
the ADC hardware instead of the MCU software, freeing up the CPU to sleep or
complete other tasks.
