High-performance SBC provides advanced 3D graphics and multimedia / HD video

Now available from Rutronik The A9r2 in PicolTX form factor is the upgraded version of the armStone A9 - its processor provides high-performance, advanced 3D graphics and multimedia as well as HD video. Offering high-end computer graphics combined with extremely low power loss, the armStone A9r2 single board computer (SBC) can be applied without a base board - therefore it is especially suited for quick time-to-market designs and applications. The SBC uses an i.MX 6Solo/DualLite/QuadPlus ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 3D, 2D, OpenGL and OpenVG. A highlight of the CPU is its long-term availability for more than 15 years (Freescale Product Longevity Program). The armStone A9r2 comes with up to 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, up to 1GB SLC Flash, and additional 32GB eMMC. Various interfaces are Wifi, Bluetooth and camera interface, furthermore Gigabit Ethernet, 4x USB 2.0 Host, USB 2.0 Device, 2x CAN, I²C, 2x SPI, Audio, SATA, PCIe and 5x serial interfaces. For display control, 2-channel LVDS and DVI are available simultaneously, also with different content. Additionally, it is possible to connect a resistive or capacitive touch panel via I²C. A supply voltage of 5V causes a power consumption of around 4W, so the armStone A9r2 can be applied without a fan or cooling device, says the company.
