Test & Measurement
Anritsu has added a new combined spectrum analyzer and signal analyzer, the
MS2840A, to its range of market-leading test and measurement solutions
available for the R&D and manufacturing of wireless equipment and devices.
Most modern spectrum analyzers have wideband measurement functions that
support the increasing demand for LTE and Wireless LAN measurement, but very
few also address the narrowband measurement requirements of microwave
wireless backhaul and VHF/UHF Private Mobile Radio (PMR). As a result, users
requiring narrowband performance have either continued using older models
dating from 10 to 20 years ago, or they have been forced to purchase very
expensive high-end models. The MS2840A now addresses this issue by providing
an affordable spectrum analyzer that offers the broadest bandwidth
measurement performance, with a frequency range from 9kHz to 44.5GHz.
Just some of the key features of the MS2840A include a built-in oscillator
with greatly improved SSB phase noise performance; support for
millimetre-wave band spectrum measurements using a high-performance
waveguide mixer and best-in-class close-in SSB phase noise performance that
enables a wide range of R&D and manufacturing applications, including
microwave and millimetre-wave wireless equipment, 79GHz band automobile
radar transmitters, and high frequency oscillators.
Additionally, the convenient built-in signal analyzer function supports
analysis of instantaneous transmitter signals, while addition of various
measurement software and options with noise figurer (NF) measurement
functions supports detailed analysis and evaluation of transmitter
modulation signals.
