Nordic Semiconductor nRF52 Series SoCs, available from Mouser, run at 64MHz with a 215 EEMBC Coremark score, 90 Coremark/mA, 39µA/MHz (flash) and 30µA/MHz (RAM). The series are built for speed to carry out increasingly complex tasks in the shortest possible time and return to sleep, conserving precious battery power. They have a Cortex-M4F processor and Nordic Semiconductor claim they are the most capable Bluetooth Smart SoCs on the market.
It features 512kB Flash and 64kB RAM, ultra high performance, ultra low power multi-protocol Bluetooth Smart, ANT, and proprietary 2.4GHz radio with -96dB RX sensitivity. They also have 5.5mA peak RX/TX currents and an on-chip RF Balun.
The series has a unique fully-automatic power management system for achieving optimal power consumption. Built on a cutting-edge 55nm process, they include 6mm x 6mm QFN and miniature 3mm x 3.2mm CSP packaging options.
They have a full range of on-chip analog and digital peripherals for glueless interfacing to external components like sensors, displays, touch controllers, LEDs, keypads, motors, digital microphones, and audio Codecs. The nRF52 are an ideal single-chip solution for wearables, human interface devices like remote controllers, toys, smart home devices and appliances, and wireless charging.
