New ultracapacitors offer protection from high degrees of ambient humidity

06-04-2016 | Rutronik | Passives

Nesscap Energy's extended line of small-cell ultracapacitors. Is now available from Rutronik. The XP ultracapacitor is engineered specifically for applications that require extra protection from high degrees of ambient humidity, which causes the escape of electrolyte vapour and can negatively affect PCB surfaces. Under biased humidity test conditions, XP parts mitigate this impact at least three times longer than equivalent standard cells. This gives the XP series a significant performance advantage over traditional types. The products are offered in a range of capacitances, from 3F to 50F, and have been extensively tested to ensure strict performance standards and compliance with RoHS, UL, and REACH, says the company.
