Proven ATX Motherboard update offers a range of new features

The new version of Fujitsu’s proven ATX Motherboard D3348-B, the D3348-B2 is now available from Rutronik. It offers various new features. It addresses users' needs for powerful CPUs on the cutting edge of technology and is ideal for use in CAD workstations, medical equipment and industrial servers in 19-inch rack format, says the company. In addition to Haswell processors XEON E5-16xx/26xx V3 and i7-59xx (Haswell-E), the future Broadwell processors XEON-E5 16xx/26xx V4 and i7 (Broadwell-E) can now be used with the new D3348-B2. Instead of DDR4-2133 memory, the board now supports DDR4-2400. The Trusted Platform Module chip is updated to TPM 2.0, thus expanding the safety functions. Despite the advanced computing power of CPUs with up to 160W high-efficiency, power converters provide the lowest possible power consumption in all operating states. The new ATX mainboard version has four PCIe x16 and three PCIe x8 slots, four USB 3.0 and nine USB 2.0 ports as well as ten SATA (600) ports with RAID support (0, 1, 5, 10). Thanks to the unchanged basic layout compared to its predecessor, customers can easily convert. As an accessory, Fujitsu offers the PCI x8 expansion board D3352 for M.2 SSD modules that enable high-end data transfer rates and minimal boot time. Thanks to the plug-in card solution, up to two M.2 SSDs can be integrated. There is no unnecessary use up of PCIe lanes for an onboard M.2 base. The mainboard comes with the Intel C612 chipset that allows Intel Standard Manageability and Intel vPro technology for remote maintenance and Trusted Execution Technology (TXT). Additionally, the chipset offers optimized support for Intel Xeon processors and ECC memory. Compared to the consumer chipset X99, the C612 offers extensive benefits such as an extended availability, ECC support, support for Intel Core i7 and Intel XEON processors and vPRO/ iAMT manageability. Complemented with a strict lifecycle management and revision control as well as special features such as watchdog, 24/7 Design and Erase Disk helping delete sensitive data on the hard drive with secure encryption technology, 'industry capability' is also strengthened. Fujitsu 'guarantees' a board availability of at least three years, says the company.
