Design & Manufacture
Specifically designed to meet the needs of the latest technology flow-pack
packaging machines, the SVTS B Series (SRC 032M) series IP65 sealed slip
ring assembly is now available from Heason Technology. The slip ring
enables the transfer of electrical power and temperature sensor signals
between the machine’s control system and its continuously rotating
weld-and-cut sealing blades.
With 3 to 5 circuits or ‘ways’ the compact 32mm diameter slip ring assembly
is protected against fluid ingress and washdown processes – without the need
for cumbersome and costly protective covers. Internally the small diameter
precious metal alloy rings combine with multiple contact brushes for low
peripheral rotating speeds that ensure long lifetime performance and low
electrical noise. The precision ball bearing set ensures low friction torque
for smooth operation. Typical maximum voltage is up to 240V AC although 400V
versions are also available in larger diameter packages.
The SVTS B Series is part of a comprehensive range of slip ring assemblies
that are used on continuous or intermittently rotating machinery where
electrical power and instrumentation level signals need to be transmitted
between stationary and rotating platforms.
In addition to packaging and converting machinery, the slip rings and rotary
joints can be used across all areas of machinery and equipment for industry,
construction, research, medical and processing etc. Applications include
machine tools, rotary tables, carousels, wind turbines, cable winches and
more. These devices are available for up to 96 or more ways, combining power
and instrumentation circuits which can include TTL, video or fieldbus level
signals.
As part of its in-house motion systems design and build service, Heason
Technology integrates the slip ring assemblies typically with
through-aperture servomotors for positioning and automation systems where
feed through of services is required. Servo motors with through-apertures
are available as direct drive or standard brushed and brushless types, and
complimentary gear units also available.
