Taiyo Yuden has announced the commercialization of its low-profile multilayer ceramic capacitors - the PMK105 BJ474ML and PMC105 BJ474ML measure just 1mm x 0.5mm x 0.11mm. The capacitors can be used in devices that are required to be small and thin, such as smartphones and wearable devices, for the purpose of decoupling IC power supply lines or embedded-parts multilayer wiring substrates and various modules. The company's proprietary capacitance enhancement technique enables the capacitors to achieve a capacitance of 0.47µF at a height of 0.11mm, which is the world’s thinnest profile for multilayer ceramic capacitors, says the company. Latest - - The company has also announced that it will commercialize its EYSGCCAXX and EYSGCCSXX Bluetooth1 v4.1 (Bluetooth low energy) dual-mode modules which reduce required space by 67% compared to predecessors. Both products measure 15.4mm × 10mm × 2mm and are optimally designed for small and thin equipment including wearable devices, healthcare equipment, IoT devices, and industrial equipment (e.g. hand-held barcode scanners and mobile printers for printing scanned data).
