LPRS has released its eRIC-SIGFOX, Sigfox LPWAN module. The module is released in the company’s popular surface mount eRIC form factor, a family of drop- in-compatible wireless modules measuring just 15mm x 20mm x 2.2mm. The module has an easy to use AT command UART interface for quick and easy OEM development and continues their ethos of a single module format, layout, compatibility for all of the modules in the eRIC range, which currently includes Point-to-Point/Multi-point eRIC4 (433MHz) and eRIC9 (868MHz / 915MHz). Utilising their IoT network, it offers customers the opportunity to add wireless, direct to cloud connectivity, to their devices. Sigfox, a wireless ‘cellular’ LPWAN technology from Sigfox France, enables new and exciting applications due to its low power long life battery (3-10 years depending on usage and environment) characteristics. With this product release, the company is also taking the opportunity to debut its ‘Module-as-a- Service’ (MaaS) proposition. Customers can purchase the module, airtime connectivity and full back office system from LPRS and its distribution partners on a recurring monthly basis. Nick Pummell, managing director of LPRS commented: “We are tremendously excited by the release of our eRIC-SIGFOX module which marks the start of our LPWAN focused products. We have further products in the LPWAN / IoT space due for release throughout 2017 which will build on our commitment to LPWAN technologies. “By designing different technologies into our eRIC format, this enables our customers to have many different products without having to redesign their hardware, allowing for quick product development and return on their investment. “Coupled with our MaaS approach, customers really can quickly test, develop, deploy and scale their products with ease.”
