Molex has introduced the ValuSeal Wire-to-Wire Connector System to provide cost-effective, reliable sealed performance. The IP65-rated, integrated wire-and-ring seal system is capable of 11A power, ideal for consumer, non-automotive transportation and lighting applications.
“Many OEMs find IP67-rated connectors too expensive, so they select unsealed connectors which can lead to product malfunctions and failures in harsh, wet environments,” said Michael Gonzalez, global product manager, Molex. “This innovative one-piece design provides a sealed connection at an extremely economical price, enabling OEMs to lower TCO while increasing product quality and reliability.”
The system features built-in seals moulded into the connector, protecting against water and dust ingress. Crimp-and-poke insertion simplifies wire assembly for added cost efficiency, and the integrated wire strain-relief in the connector body prevents leak-paths often found in other connector systems.
The compact 4mm pitch offers design flexibility in limited space environments. The two-circuit connector is currently available, and a four-circuit version will follow by mid-2017.
