Hagstrom Electronics has a new KE-USBMX20 Keypad Interface. This versatile product provides a quick and easy way to scan keypads up to a 4x5 matrix size and generate USB keystrokes. The matrix row and column pins can be programmed to mate directly with off the shelf male header keypads. No special cables are needed between the keypad and the nine-pin female header. Keypad keys can be programmed to send a single keystroke or a sequence of keystrokes for the activation and/or deactivation of the key. Each key may also be individually set to repeat if held active, or only allow one response for each key activation. A nine-pin male/male header adapter is included, which allows direct interface to the female connectors from membrane switches. Multiple units may be attached to the same PC and programmed separately with the provided configuration utility. The device is powered from the USB port connection, and includes a 6' USB Cable.
