The sheathed EMC gasket offered by EMKA can be a solution for EMC protection against transmission of electro-magnetic interference. This is a major design concern for manufacturers of sensitive equipment, which sometimes requires supplementation.
EMC versions of the 1016 gasket program in EPDM have a conductive external skin to attenuate the transmission of electro-magnetic interference across a sealed junction. In addition to EMC, common applications for the range is from gap sealing to noise reduction, such as from internal equipment; also vibration damping and impact cushioning on furniture, cabinets and machinery.
This conductive coated gasket and tape system offers a contiguous conductive pathway to assure EMC performance on cabinets and steel enclosures where the initial design did not give sufficient EMC performance, or possibly did not take it into consideration at all.
