Molex Electronics EdgeLock wire connectors offer space savings and positive locking for secure mating to PCB edge cards. This series of connectors is now available from RS Components.
The header is typically soldered to the PCB, which adds space and assembly steps. Extra steps are required if rework is needed. These connectors offer a solution for direct mating to the PCB edge card. At the same time, the latch can be used to release the assembly easily from the PCB. The demand for positive locking is growing, improving PCB retention forces.
The connector is made in 2, 4, 6 and 8 single row circuit sizes which can accommodate 1.2mm and 1.6mm PCB thickness. The housings accept wire ranges 22-24AWG UL 1061 style and 24 AWG UL1007/1569 style.
