MLCC capacitors meet growing need for rugged off-the-shelf devices

Under the Syfer brand, the Knowles Capacitors AEC-Q200 series of MLCC capacitors has extended its range, increasing the available working voltage from 2kV up to maximum 4kV. Created for EV applications where higher voltages are required, but where a margin for derating has to be met - such as for power train use, like battery management and invertors. Available in X7R dielectric, with a capacitance of up to 22nF, this extension follows an already comprehensive series of AEC-Q200 qualified MLCC capacitors and complements the comprehensive AEC-Q200 qualified components the company offers. The series is offered as standard with their lead-free, RoHS and REACH compliant, FlexiCap termination for crack prevention and high number thermal cycle withstand. For automotive applications that demand High Q, low loss MLCC’s the brand X8G HighQ series now also has AEC-Q200 qualification. These low ESR HighQ parts are produced with a copper electrode for optimum performance at high frequencies and are rated to operate over the temperature range -55C to +150C. The capacitance range of 0.3pF to 100pF is covered, with rated voltages up to 500V. They are also ideal for many other applications such as networking and Wi-Fi, as well as use in safety systems such as radar. Again, lead-free RoHS and REACH compliant termination options.
