New electromechanical lock for cam latches offers vehicle security

12-12-2018 | Emka | Subs & Systems

The new eCam from EMKA gives a secure electromechanical locking system to stop the opening of a manually operated latch/lock even when forced from the outside. The company's eCam is designed primarily for trailers, mobile homes and RVs where it allows multiple locking/unlocking from a remote central point. Each door latch/lock may be chosen to suit the individual door so that it engages into the eCam. Variants of system include no-status-indicator, status-indicator-included or with-status-indicator-and-automatic-unlock in case of power failure. Supply voltage needed is in the range 9V-32V, and emergency opening is facilitated using a Bowden cable mounting kit if required.
