3M's Scotchlok IDC splice connectors, available now from RS Components, are gel-filled and gas-tight. These splice connectors are extensively used in the telecoms industry and other fine wire applications. Wires are simply inserted into the housing and crimped down which actuates an insulation displacement mechanism automatically connecting the two wires into an environmentally gel sealed unit.
The usable solid wire Size is 26-19awg (0.4-0.9mm dia), with a maximum insulation OD 2.08mm.
