Low profile PSU carries full medical safety and EMC approvals

FiDUS Power has introduced what is claimed to be the lowest profile 180W power supply of its class, measuring just 0.75" high, 25% less than its nearest rival. Offered in standard UL/IEC/EN 60950-1 safety-approved and medically-approved versions to ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and IEC/EN 60601-1 3rd Edition, the new 180W PSUs have a 80VAC-264VAC input, convection rating of 120W (180W fan cooled), operating temperature of -40C to 70C, 12V fan output and up to 92% efficiency as standard. Output models are provided from 12VDC to 58VDC. Comments Mark Gibbons, engineering manager at FiDUS Power: “These sleek new units help miniaturise industrial and medical systems yet still deliver outstanding performance.” The PSUs come with Molex or optional screw terminal connectivity, AC fail/power good signal, Class II versions and cover kit assemblies. EMC is of a high standard for simplicity of design for engineers, with the medial version meeting IEC 60601-1-2 4th Edition immunity.
