New adapter for unidirectional optical modules

02-04-2019 | Toshiba | Subs & Systems

Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched a new adapter for unidirectional optical modules. It is especially valuable in industrial systems such as power storage systems and high voltage inverters. The new TOCA1300 enables a fibre optic transmitting module (such as the company's TOTX1350(F)) to be connected directly to a compatible fibre optic receiving module, thereby enabling the transmission of data across short distances. In systems where a longer isolation distance is demanded than is feasible with a photocoupler then the device provides a simple, easy-to-use solution. It is correspondingly valuable where shorter coupling than can be achieved with fibre optic cable is required. The device ensures high integrity data transmission when used with the relevant modules and connection security is assured by a withdrawal force of at least 5.9N.
