Sony has released a new Camera Remote SDK that provides possibilities for developers and integrators to access the company's cameras and image data captured with them. The support for developers and integrators has been profoundly reinforced from the current Camera Remote API and enables developers and integrators to create bespoke applications to remotely control the company's cameras for tailor-made usage needs. The applications offer remote control functions from a host PC and aid transmission of the image data back from the cameras.
The SDK also enables developers and integrators to remotely access other functions including changing the camera settings, shutter release and live view monitoring in their software applications.
The SDK initially supports Alpha 7R IV and Alpha 9 II and the line-up of supported cameras will be progressively expanded.
