Miniature axial aluminium electrolytic capacitors increase design flexibility and reliability

Vishay Intertechnology offers two new series of miniature axial aluminium electrolytic capacitors. Offered in ten compact case sizes ranging from 6.5mm x 18mm to 21mm x 38mm, the Vishay BCcomponents 125 ALS and 126 ALX series combine operating temperatures up to +125C with useful life up to 10,000 hours.

The axial leads and low profile of the devices offer designers greater design flexibility, while their high-temperature capabilities and long serviceable life improve reliability for exacting applications in harsh environments. As polarised aluminium electrolytic capacitors with a non-solid electrolyte, the devices are ideal for smoothing, filtering, and buffering in power supplies for industrial, automotive, and telecommunications applications.

Providing a cylindrical aluminium case, insulated with a blue sleeve, the two series provide capacitance values from 33µF to 18,000µF, rated voltages from 10V to 63V, and high ripple current to 1860mA. The RoHS-compliant capacitors provide charge and discharge-proof performance and are vibration and shock-resistant. For automatic insertion, the devices are offered in taped versions for select case sizes.
