Low-profile mid-plane RJ45 connectors for space restricted IoT applications
Stewart Connector has introduced a new series of low-profile Mid-Plane RJ45 connectors. The new product design enables the connector to straddle the board edge and utilise space above and below the PCB compared to conventional RJ45 connectors that are only intended to mount above the board.
Equipment designers will acquire valuable space and savings in applications where the RJ45 would commonly be the tallest component on their PCB by using the new connector it lowers their product height by up to 25%. The connectors provide a high-speed solution for an expansive array of IoT applications, including servers/switches, video game systems, and portable storage devices. The connectors support 1 and 2.5G data rates and 100MHz transmission frequencies.
The connectors are offered in 1x1 and 1x4 configurations, LED options-yellow/green and bi-colour, and 0.085” and 0.125” tail lengths, and shielded to improve EMI performance.
