Rohde & Schwarz has increased its R&S Spectrum Rider FPH family with new base models providing measurement frequencies up to 44GHz. A new 44GHz model has been added to the current R&S FPH models with measurement frequencies from 5kHz to 6, 13.6, and 26.5GHz. Also, three new versions with tracking generators are offered with measurement frequencies up to 13.6, 26.5 and 44GHz.
Large buttons and a multi-touch gesture screen make it extremely simple to operate. New higher frequency models allow the device to perform a wider range of measurement tasks. With a high sensitivity of –160dBm and measurement accuracy of typically 0.5dB between 10MHz and 3GHz, it provides class-leading RF performance. The new models support field applications such as verification of 5G, broadcast, radar, defence and satellite communications links.
Weighing only 3.2kg for the 44GHz model, the device is optimised for mobile use. Its battery lasts up to 4.5 hours, making it a long-lasting 44GHz handheld spectrum analyser for field tasks. The backlit keypad enables users to work in the dark, and the non-reflective display provides a daylight mode for improved readability in direct sunlight.
This handheld spectrum analyser family possesses a large-format capacitive touchscreen that makes it simple to intuitively adjust settings including frequency, span and reference level, and to set markers. Also, large buttons and a practical multifunction wheel aid operation with gloves in outdoor environments. The analyser can be remotely controlled through USB, or LAN and, for even more convenience, the R&S MobileView app for iOS or Android offers seamless remote control of the device.
