New power supplies offer superior performance and reliability

SL Power Electronics has launched the NGB Series of high-power density convection rated AC/DC power supplies. Designed for applications including industrial, medical, audio broadcast and LED lighting, the series provides a wealth of application relevant features and is offered in multiple formats and power levels, including 250W, 425W, 660W and 1200W (with 150W and 800W coming soon), all with a single output from 12–56VDC.

Departing from the commonly used industry approach of optimising a design to need forced air cooling with fans, the series provides customers increased reliability and excludes acoustic noise. Its next-generation design optimises the convection rating performance. It uses a scalable design strategy with highly customisable options, incorporating enhanced digital monitoring and control, multi-output, cardiac float, covers and fan covers.

Whether operating in an industrial or medical environment, the series provides Class I and II inputs with high output stability over wide temperature range up to 50C with no derating, wide universal input voltage range from 80-264VAC, high convection power rating (derated only at 90VAC input voltages), lifetime extended by the use of greater than seven-year electrolytic capacitor life, Medical 4th Ed. and heavy industrial levels of EMC compliance meeting Class B emission levels with margins, approved to CSA/EN/IEC UL62368, IEC61326-1/UL60601-1, 3rd Edition and three-year warranty.
