Compact transformers with EP six cores for ultrasonic applications

TDK Corporation has released the new B78416A* series of compact EPCOS transformers with EP six cores for ultrasonic applications. The series includes five types with transformation ratios between 1:1:8.42 and 1:1:15. Depending on the type, the new SMD-version transformers provide inductance values between 3mH and 5mH and are ideal for frequencies between 52kHz and 300kHz.

The components are compliant with AEC-Q200, offer highly compact dimensions of just 9mm x 7.6mm x 7.1mm and are magnetically shielded for greater interference suppression. The permissible temperature range lies between -40C and +125C.

The transformers serve optimal impedance matching between the driver IC and the ultrasonic transmitter or receiver in ultrasonic applications. General applications incorporate parking aids, industrial robots, drones, logistics robots, AGVs and systems for fill level measurement.
