Four-terminal shunt resistors for accurate current sensing demands

04-04-2022 | Stackpole | Passives

Current sensing for high efficiency generally needs very low resistance values. However, due to lead resistance effects, sensing accuracy is more challenging for lower resistance values. Four terminal shunt resistors eradicate errors due to lead resistance.

Stackpole's CSSK3637 is a four-terminal shunt that provides very low resistance values, which have been expanded to 0.5 to 6mOhms, in tolerances as low as 0.5% and TCR of 50ppm. Also, this all-metal shunt has an operating temperature up to 170C, offering exceptional stability for a wide spectrum of end products. The 3W device is 100% RoHS compliant without exemption, REACH compliant, and halogen-free.

Applications for the device include consumer electronics, portable electronics power management, frequency converters, inverter control for solar power, power modules, and power control for hybrid vehicles.
