Ultra-low capacitance ESD protection diodes protect automotive data interfaces

Nexperia has extended its portfolio of extremely low clamping and ultra-low capacitance ESD protection diodes. This portfolio protects high-speed data lines, including USB 3.2, HDMI 2.0, LVDS, automotive A/V Monitors, displays and cameras. Furthermore, it also aims to meet the upcoming high-speed video links and the OPEN Alliance MGbit ethernet applications.

These latest product additions include PESD5V0C1BLS-Q and PESD5V0C1ULS-Q as two-pin single-line devices with a very compact DFN1006BD-2 package for optimised routing flexibility. Also, PESD5V0C2UM and PESD5V0C2UM-Q are available as three-pin devices for differential lines in DFN1006-3. All variants are supplied in leadless packages to enhance electrical performance and signal integrity.

The company’s long-standing expertise in the design of ESD protection solutions has permitted these diodes to deliver best-in-class signal integrity performance because of their ultra-low device capacitance (as low as 0.3pF). For maximum design flexibility, these diodes are provided in dual line DFN1006-3 and single line DFN1006BD-2. The latter packages offer side wettable flanks to allow AOI.

These AEC-Q101 automotive qualified devices display deep snapback behaviour together with a low resistance of 0.27-Ohm, for improved system level robustness and clamping performance in high-speed data interfaces.
