PULS now provides three new DIN rail power supplies with 240W and 480W output power and an integrated EtherCAT interface from stock.

The new power supplies with EtherCAT interface allow efficient and time-saving configuration, operation monitoring and remote control. To achieve this, the devices provide a wide range of power supply and application data, such as voltage and current characteristics on the input and output side. The power supplies are connected directly to an EtherCAT controller without requiring additional gateways. This allows easy and fast access to all measured values and power supply functions.

Based on the power supply data, machine manufacturers and operators can optimise their machines regarding efficiency and productivity. Real-time data transmission via EtherCAT makes the monitoring, logging, and remote control of complex systems achievable.

The power supply data is particularly useful in real-time control loops. Based on the live data, drives or other energy-intensive consumers can be controlled optimally to keep the dynamic power demand within the capabilities of the power supply system. This allows improved system efficiency as the power supplies are always optimally utilised. In particular, the power supplies enable automated responses to cope with unplanned operating conditions, often leading to downtime or damage.

The CP10.241-ETC, CP20.241-ETC (both 24V) and CP20.481-ETC (48V) with EtherCAT interface also impress with PULS-typical top values in the basic power supply functions: efficiency of more than 95%, maximum reliability and lifetime, permanently 20% extra power at temperatures up to 45C and ease of installation thanks to PULS QuickConnect terminals. All these features are housed in an extremely robust yet compact metal housing with a width of only 48mm.

The company offers all the documentation and tools needed to integrate its smart power supplies with EtherCAT into customers' automation networks, enabling direct access to device data from the PLC or embedded controller.

This includes extensive documentation, from datasheets, data and interface descriptions to quick start guides, allowing fast and easy integration even for users with little experience. Also, the companyt provides the relevant electronic data files, such as IODD for IO Link or ESI files for EtherCAT, as part of its quick start guides. The company also provides sample configurations and programs for selected PLCs and control tools.
