RECOM have added a new AC/DC range to their portfolio. The RACM15E-K series is rated up to 15W output for 80-275VAC input and is offered in two mechanical formats: the open-frame /OF version with 'MolexTM' connectors, sized 3.1" x 0.9" x 0.8" (80mm x 23.8mm x 22mm) and a /PMAD version with IP20-rated enclosure for chassis or DIN rail mounting and Push in Terminals that accept stranded and solid wire, sized 3.2" x 1.1" x 1.1" (83mm x 26.4mm x 29.5mm). The parts fit a standard 1.5 'module' DIN rail slot with no restriction on spacing to adjacent modules.

The single regulated outputs available are 3.3V (12W-rated), 5, 12, 15, 24, and 30VDC rated at 15W, all fully protected against overvoltage, overload, and short circuits. In overload, the parts have a constant current limit characteristic appropriate for non-linear loads, with a self-resetting 'hiccup' mode for short circuits. The operating temperature range is -40C to +85C, derating from 50C ambient in still air.

The series holds comprehensive certifications: IEC/EN62368-1, IEC/EN60335-1, IEC61558, and IEC60601-1/ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 for safety. In medical applications, the parts are rated 2MOPP, over-voltage category II (OVCII) to 5000m altitude, and meet 'BF' touch current specifications for applied-part applications. The parts can be used in OVCIII environments up to 3000m according to IEC61558-2-16 and IEC60335-1. No load current is typically less than 100mW to meet eco-design requirements, and conducted EMI standard EN55032 Class B is met with a floating load.

Due to their high efficiency, up to 86%, the device parts are cool-running and attain long life and high reliability, with an MTBF of over 1M hours according to MIL-HDBK-217, ground benign environment.

Michael Schrutka, MSc., RECOM's product manager AC/DC, comments, "These AC/DCs are easy to integrate into any system with their 'plug and play' connections and comprehensive certifications."

The series' typical applications include industrial automation, industrial measurement equipment, medical homecare devices, building automation, monitoring, and household equipment.
