Mouser now stocks the ESP32-S3-BOX-3, Espressif Systems' next-generation open-source AIoT kit. This AI development kit is excellent for developers who prototype and transform existing factory operating systems into Edge, AI, and HMI applications or other complex IoT systems.

The AIoT kit is a feature-rich development tool based on the ESP32-S3 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5 Low Energy SoC featuring AI acceleration capabilities. The SoC also features 512KB SRAM, supported by 16MB of quad flash and 16MB of octal PSRAM. The kit also contains a 2.4" (320 x 240) SPI touchscreen, two digital microphones, a speaker, a USB Type-C port, and a high-density PCIe connector for hardware expansion. The kit delivers a speech-recognition framework that supplies users with an offline AI voice assistant with far-field voice interaction, continuous recognition, wake-up interruption, and the ability to recognise over 200 customisable command words.

The product is a versatile device that supports the Matter protocol, allowing users to use it as a Matter-over-Wi-Fi/Thread end-device, a Thread border router, or a Matter gateway. Also, it supports working with the open-source, home-automation platform and home assistant, therefore providing users with a powerful, local home controller that rivals Amazon Echo and Google Home. The device's outstanding AI capabilities and low power consumption make it an excellent choice for smart home automation, delivering seamless connectivity and effortless control over a wide range of devices.

Espressif's AIoT Cloud platform, ESP RainMaker, can be employed with ESP32-S3-BOX-3 to configure GPIOs and offline voice commands while also delivering remote control via phone apps or third-party voice assistants. Its ESP Insights software supplies a remote diagnostics solution to monitor the device's functioning in the field, ensuring optimal performance at all times.
