Security solution for IoT applications

Mouser now stocks the new OPTIGA Trust M MTR from Infineon Technologies. The OPTIGA Trust M MTR is a discrete security solution that works with any MCU or SoC and features secured Matter compatibility for consumer electronics, smart homes, drones, building automation, and industrial control applications.

The solution is tamper-resistant hardware certified to CC EAL6+ (high), featuring up to 10kB user memory, an I2C interface with a shielded connection, and four monotonic up counters. The solution enables OEMs to download and inject their device attestation certificate at a later stage, right up until the start of production, without exposing the private key. This signifies that product IDs do not have to be decided upfront when the reel is being ordered or manufactured. This provides OEMs greater flexibility in deciding on product variants after ordering the security chips.

The solution features a Matter-certified provisioning service that works with any MCU or SoC, making adding secured Matter compatibility to existing IoT application designs easy. Matter is a new connectivity standard for IoT devices with a universal software layer serving as a foundation for connected things and their applications compatible with existing home protocols.

The OPTIGA Trust M MTR Shield evaluates the OPTIGA Trust M security solutions. This development tool has a microBUS layout, which allows easy prototyping with MPU and MCU platforms. The Shield is compatible with the Qwiic ecosystem and is CC EAL 6+ certified. It is compact and can be paired with the PSoC 62S2 Wi-Fi BT pioneer kit and OPTIGA Trust adapter.
