The new line of products powered by Qualcomm simplifies and accelerates the development of AI-driven edge-computing vision systems, delivering performance-intensive technology for diverse applications.

IMDT has announced a collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. This collaboration will integrate Qualcomm IoT processors into IMDT’s power-efficient, cost-effective, and ready-to-use SOMs, SBCs, and product-specific customised solutions.

The family of products powered by Qualcomm delivers advanced functionality and high performance for a wide range of use cases, including robotics, drones, video collaboration, and smart retail. First in line, and already available for pre-order, are the IMDT QCS8550 SOM and SBC, powered by the Qualcomm QCS8550 processor. This processor provides superior computing power, advanced Edge AI processing, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and crystal-clear video and graphics, making it excellent for performance intensive AIoT applications.

The integration of Qualcomm's advanced processors into IMDT's products, combined with its expertise in bringing end-to-end solutions to market, is set to make an impact on the landscape of AI-driven applications. As well as the current product lineup, IMDT is developing a new series based on the Qualcomm QCS6490 processor, expected to be available for pre-order in Q4 2024. This forthcoming product line underscores its commitment to advancing technology and providing state-of-the-art solutions to its customers.

The IMDT QCS8550 based SOM measuring just 37mm x 30mm x 4mm, is a production-ready module that supports 8 x 4-lane MIPI CSI connections, providing attachment of up to 20 cameras. Also, the full module provides customisable options such as onboard Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, various memory and storage capacities, and PHY configurations, allowing users to tailor the system to their specific needs.
