Three-phase DIN rail-filter takes up very little space

27-08-2024 | Schurter | Power

Schurter has launched a new three-phase filter series for DIN rail mounting. Thanks to the slim housing (44mm), it takes up very little space on the mounting rail in the control cabinet. The single-stage filter is provided with standard or high attenuation. A metal base plate provides an excellent ground connection to the rail.

Space is almost always at a premium in control cabinets for industrial applications in the three-phase range (e.g. motor drives, control systems). The company manages this problem with a completely new filter design that is only 44mm in width. The new, single-stage filter series is constructed with a PCB in a plastic housing. It has screw terminals for the three phases and a terminal on the metal base plate for the earth connection.

The new filters already provide very impressive attenuation behaviour in the standard version with a ferrite core. The high-performance versions with nanocrystalline cores achieve up to 8dB more attenuation.

The new filter family has particularly low leakage currents of just 1.3mA. This applies to all versions.

All versions can be used from -40C to 100C. The filters are designed for currents from 3A to 32A at a maximum of 520VAC in accordance with IEC and UL standards. They provide ENEC and cURus approval and are suited to applications in accordance with IEC 62368-1.

These filters are recommended for devices with high EMC loads (switching power supplies, converters, etc.). Typical application areas are industrial or machine control systems, but the high-performance, slimline filters are also excellent for laboratory, telecom and IT devices.
