MPUs for IoT edge and 5G plus asset tracking applications and more

Mouser now stocks the RZ/G3S MPUs from Renesas Electronics. The MPUs offer PCIe-supported 5G wireless connectivity and secure data transfer with variable low-power management for IoT edge, smart meters, smart homes, and tracking device applications.

The MPUs feature three Arm Cortex cores (1x Cortex-A55 CPU (1.1GHz) and 2x Cortex-M33 CPUs(250MHz) for real-time processing, a 16-bit LPDDR4/DDR4 interface and a built-in PCI Express interface that allows high-speed 5G wireless connectivity, with network communication options that support low-power mode. The device delivers power savings to the MPU through partitioned power domains, with improved security features like tamper detection in low-power mode operation.

The RZ/G3S evaluation kit (RTK9845S33S01000BE), also available from Mouser, is created in a SMARC form factor to evaluate the functionality of RZ/G3S devices. This compact system is assembled with a power-efficient MPU, offering PCIe-supported 5G wireless connectivity and secure data transfer to IoT networks, with low power management for battery efficiency. Supplied with a SMARC carrier board and a module board, the kit provides a wide set of interfaces, providing sensor connectivity and network communication options.
