New non-magnetic PCB-mounted SMPM options now available

09-09-2024 | Amphenol | Industrial

Amphenol RF has expanded its non-magnetic offerings with new SMPM PCB designs. These new connectors are provided in the straight jack configuration and feature full detent or smooth bore retention. They are specifically engineered with non-ferrous metals and alloys. Non-magnetic RF interconnects are crucial for medical equipment, quantum computing components, and defence/aerospace technology applications, where magnetic material in the components may cause interference.

These 50-Ohm non-magnetic SMPM jacks offer reliable electrical performance up to 26.5GHz and are engineered with gold-plated, beryllium copper bodies. They are compatible with all existing non-magnetic SMPM bullets for an excellent board-to-board or cable-to-board solution. SMPM connectors use the popular snap-on locking mechanism for quick and easy mating and unmating. These parts can be identified by the NM stamp on the body.

Non-magnetic SMPM connectors provide the same features and benefits as traditional SMPM products – misalignment tolerance, decreased footprint, high-frequency range and a wide range of configurations. These RF interconnects join a growing portfolio of board-to-board options provided as standard off-the-shelf solutions.
