Mouser now stocks Microchip Technology's WBZ350 RF-ready multi-protocol modules. The modules, part of the PIC32CX-BZ family, are secure 32-bit MCUs with integrated Bluetooth and Zigbee wireless capabilities. The RF-ready modules are created for applications that need reliable wireless connectivity, including IoT devices for smart factories and process automation, home automation and smart lighting systems, health and fitness wearables with wireless data control, and building automation.

The modules feature a 64MHz Arm Cortex M4F processor that balances performance with energy efficiency. Two versions of the modules are available: the WBZ350PE with an onboard antenna and the WBZ350UE with a U.FL connector for an external antenna. Both versions simplify the process of adding wireless capabilities to applications, saving time and lowering RF-design costs. The MCU modules are also pre-certified in the U.S., Canada, Europe, China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea, further accelerating time to market and providing compliance across major markets.

The modules feature an ultra-low-power 2.4GHz transceiver that supports BLE 5.2, IEEE 802.15.4, and Zigbee 3.0 connectivity. Hardware-level arbitration permits for multi-protocol wireless functionality. The modules protect applications with hardware-based security, as NIST-compliant authentication and secure boot ROM ensure that only trusted software is able to run. Robust analogue peripherals, including industrial-grade capacitive touch, ADCs, DAC, and comparators, enable versatile sensor integration and analogue management across various applications. The MCU modules are built on the MPLAB Harmony v3 framework for fast and simple development.
