Miniature encapsulated AC/DCs provide extended specifications

29-11-2024 | RECOM Power | Power

The RECOM RAC04NE-K series of encapsulated AC/DC converters are rated 4W continuous, without derating, across the full input range of 100VAC to 277VAC nominals and from -40C to +80C, while 6W peak is obtainable for limited durations. These characteristics make the modules appropriate for various demanding but cost-sensitive applications, including building/home automation, lighting, datacom/telecom, e-mobility, industrial and many more. Extra features include Class II insulation, OVCIII rating to 3000m, enhanced line transient immunity and compliance with conducted EMI standard EN55032 Class B, with a floating or ground-connected output.

The fully regulated output voltages available are 5, 9, 12, 15, and 24V. The products are offered in a through-hole PCB mount format, 37mm x 24mm x 18mm. Selected models are also available in a wired format with mounting lugs, 37.8mm x 24.8mm x 18.7mm, encapsulated, and IP65-rated.

Comprehensive safety and EMC certifications are held for varied end applications, and the products feature secure protection against overload, short circuits, and output overvoltage. Build quality is high to assure reliable operation in demanding environments, with a calculated MTBF of over 2M hours at 40C according to MIL-HDBK-217, GB conditions. The design lifetime is over 12 years at 230VAC, full load, and 50C ambient temperature, backed up by the company's three-year warranty.

"These high-specification AC/DCs are easy to integrate into any global application where reliability, performance and cost are critical," comments Michael Schrutka, MSc. AC/DC product manager of RECOM.
