Mouser now offers the new ST1VAFE3BX biosensor from STMicroelectronics. The device is the first compact, dual-function biosensor combining a vAFE for detecting biopotential signals with a three-axis low-power accelerometer for consumer and medical motion tracking and wearable applications.

The biosensor is a compact, low-noise, and low-power biosensor with configurable input impedance, ideal for wearables and predictive healthcare. It delivers low latency and unique context-aware edge analysis with an embedded edge AI machine learning core housed in a compact 2mm x 2mm package. The sensor also delivers improved compensation for motion artefacts with synchronised biopotential and motion signals.

The company also stocks the STMicroelectronics STEVAL-MKI250KA biosensor evaluation kit. The kit consists of a PCB with a pre-mounted ST1VAFE3BX biosensor and a high-performance 32-bit MCU that functions as a bridge between the sensor and a PC. This MCU allows the downloadable GUI (MEMS Studio) or dedicated software routines for customised applications. The kit makes the complete device pinout available and is recommended for usage with the STMicroelectronics STEVAL-MKI109V3 motherboard or STEVAL-MKBOXPRO IoT programmable wireless box kit.
