Advantech has launched the SOM-E781, a COM-HPC Size E Extension featuring the AMD EPYC Embedded 8004 series processor. Designed for high-performance Edge Server applications, this latest innovation builds on the abilities of the standard COM-HPC Server Size E.
The device delivers server-grade performance with an optimised pin-out that supports up to 572W of board-to-board power. With its EPYC Embedded 8004 series processor, the SOM-E781 also supports up to 576GB of memory and 79 PCIe lanes up to Gen5 – 1.24x more than the standard COM-HPC Server Size E – while maintaining efficient power consumption of a maximum of 200W. The device is designed to excel in managing large-scale data processing with support for CXL 1.1 expansion, fulfilling high-performance computing needs. SOM-E780 offers state-of-the-art remote management and device deployment. Using SOM-RD10 on top adds more features, such as remote KVM and IPMI. All this is supported by the company's SW, which provides DeviceOn and the Edge AI SDK.
Ideal for enterprises, healthcare, telecommunications, and mission-critical applications, the SOM-E781 delivers outstanding computing power, design flexibility, and energy efficiency, making it a comprehensive solution for next-generation edge server requirements.
